Furniture Redo

Last week, I wanted to do something different. I decided to give the 20-year-old chairs at home a whole new look. A fresh look! Something edgier! More attractive!

Makeover

Spent the week trying to makeover the family activity room and here's how it looks like so far.

Nothing major. No changes to the structure. Just simply painted the wall with Dulux River Rock that gives a textured finish to the wall, hung the TV on the wall and moved a few pieces of furniture around.

Friday

The weather has been gloomy all week. After 5 weeks and 5 balls of yarn, Vivien (a friend of ours) finally completed her beauuuuutiful leg warmer with pompoms. Just in time for winter. It's starting to get cold by the day. If you're interested, I'm pretty sure Vivien would not mind to knit you one =)



Deeply saddened by the sudden death of Michael Jackson. I used to sing and dance to his songs when I was little. No doubt a good performer. RIP, MJ.

Toddler Jumper

I have been sewing for the past week and I have completed two sets of toddler jumper. Finished it in time for my niece's 2nd birthday. Hope she'll like it.

The first jumper is made from a Cherry Blossom print fabric in pink.

And the second jumper is rather cute and comfortable.

Headband

Here's an easy weekend project that perhaps you can try.

All you need is just 2 long leather straps (Other alternatives would be 3 or 4 straps or you can even use your old bras' strap), 2 smaller pieces of leather scraps, a rubber band, glue and scissors.

1. Cut up 2 small pieces of leather scraps as wide as 2 leather straps and apply glue as shown in the picture below.


2. Place the 2 leather straps on the glue, insert the rubber band and glue the leather scrap together leaving an allowance or loop for the rubber band.




3. Do the same to the other side of the leather strap.


There you have it!  A self-made Glecian headband that could cost you up to AUD$20 in local hair accessories stores, for less than $3.

Pink Baby Beanie for Newborn

Sorry for the lack of updates! We have been busy completing orders for the past couple of weeks!

Above is a new product we have in store - pink baby beanie for newborns or babies up to 6 mths old. Made of 100% acrylic yarn by Down to Earth.

This little beanie of not more than 5.5 inches wide when lying flat actually took me a few days to finish. The first one I completed was way too small to fit any baby's head and nope, I don't think they even fit preemies' heads. So I started a new one with 8 extra stitches and tada! It's so much better this time =)

We absolutely love yarns by Down to Earth. Unfortunately, they are rare to find these days. We found this only pink yarn left in Spotlight last month and I don't think there will be any left. We already have a buyer for this beanie so if you're interested in placing an order for this cutie, please be noted that we will be using a different yarn which will most probably have a slightly different color and texture. However, we will make sure to choose something soft and comfortable for babies =)
